Our history
In March 1989 Marco, third generation's son of the Ciampini family, dear to Romans for the delicious ice-creams and the famous "Tartufo al Cioccolato", took over in Viale Trinità dei Monti the old "Café du Jardin", turning the simple bar into the restaurant and ice-cream shop "Caffè Ciampini", with a beautiful garden and a wonderful veranda which is suitable both for a business lunch and for an aperitif or a cocktail at sunset or a romantic dinner rich in atmosphere. In Trinità dei Monti scenery, between Piazza di Spagna and Villa Medici,Caffè Ciampini offers refined chances to relax in the very centre of Rome with its enchanting view over the roman skyline and its appetizing food.
The continuous revolution in the culinary art has actually stimulated Marco Ciampini's attention and led him to the creation of a new exquisite cuisine with the cooperation of the Chef and the Staff. For breakfast delicious cornetti (croissants) and cappuccino (white coffee), for lunch a variety of salads, cold and hot hors-d'oeuvres just prepared at the moment to be served up, a variety of pasta, grilled danish meat and fresh fish daily chosen by the Chef, finishing with the extremely good ice-creams, first of all the famous "Tartufo al Cioccolato".
